The British Educational Suppliers Association (Besa) is offering schools a group travel subsidy of up to £150 for those heading to The Education Show at the NEC, Birmingham, which runs from Thursday 4 to Saturday 6 March 2010.
Ray Barker, director, Besa said: “Celebrating its 20th anniversary with plenty of new feature areas and a brand new design, the Education Show 2010 is an opportunity not to be missed. Divided into two areas, ‘For Your School’ is the ideal area for leaders, while ‘For Your Classroom’ has been created for classroom teachers and support staff.
“Now more than ever, the Education Show has something for every educator, and to help you and your team get to the show, Besa is once again offering our hugely popular group travel subsidy.”
Liz Steele, head teacher at Glemsford CP School, Sudbury, Suffolk, took advantage of the Besa Coach Scheme in 2009, ensuring every staff member at her school could make it to The Education Show. Liz said: “Previously only the deputy head teacher and I attended The Education Show from our school. After the introduction of the Besa Coach Scheme however, every member of our staff now visits as a Professional Development day.”
Groups of 10 or more staff travelling in excess of 50 miles to the NEC for The Education Show can claim a subsidy of up to £150 towards the cost of hiring a coach or minibus. Groups of 10-19 staff can claim a £50 subsidy, and groups of 20 or more staff are eligible for a £100 subsidy. In addition, those travelling on Thursday 4 March can also claim a £50 bonus.
